I need help to turn my hobby into a business.
Actually, my "hobby" is just a dream, as I'm not even "doing" my hobby.
I would like to teach adults what they missed by not going through America's public schools three hundred years ago.
I've begun working on several websites to sell my program. Here's one:
My program is the one-room schoolhouse of colonial America.
This program made America the most prosperous and admired nation in history.
This curriculum was banned by the Federal Government in the 20th century, and the United States is now bankrupt and despised.
America's Founding Fathers said my program was "necessary for good government and the happiness of mankind."
I've also thought about calling it
But people are reluctant to admit that they are
Victims of Educational Malpractice.
And nobody wants to go “back to school.”
This is not something people "want," it's something America's Founding Fathers would say we "need." Nobody is searching for a colonial American curriculum for adults whose nation is headed over a cliff.
I have been creating content on the internet since 1996, and now have over 2,000 blog posts and static webpages on the internet. I've received thousands of emails, both kudos and vulgar hate mail. I could hit "reply" and tell prospects I'm ready to launch my coaching program, and they can now work through my content on a systematic and daily basis.
I would be OK with giving my curriculum away for free, and reserving "coaching" for those who make a tax-deductible donation to my 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. My "list" would be anyone who wants to get a Biblical Worldview education. I would send out a daily email with a lesson. My curriculum lasts 365 days. I would "sell" "coaching" to subscribers.
But I don't feel I have an entrepreneurial bone in my body, and the thought of running a business has me paralyzed. I haven't taken my "first step" in creating a "business" because I don't know where that leads. I would like to be able to visualize a few steps into the future. Ever since I graduated from college, I've been a volunteer missionary or social worker. I've received arrangements to get room and board, but no salary. Including a summer job in college, I've been in the world of for-profit businesses less than 12 months in my entire life. I make a better employee than volunteer, but I want to work for a business that has the “Vine & Fig Tree” vision.
Plus, not only do I not know how to market very well, but I want to target people like I used to be when I was a kid: people who relish powerful governments and the "shock and awe" of mass destruction and violence, and think those who don't are "commie wimps."
(At this point I don't need to engage in "marketing." I have the email addresses of thousands of prospects. But one of my big problems is worrying about things I would have to do after I get my business started -- but I haven't even gotten it started yet.)
